Tom Newman, an old colleague of mine, as well as founder and head trainer of Sandbata, LLC, will be hosting his first ever annual golf tournament at the Newport National Golf Course, in Newport, RI on Sunday, April 18th to help benefit the Middletown High athletics program.

Tournament fees include:

– Greens fees for 18 holes of golf

– Cart rental

-Prime rib and baked stuffed shrimp dinner at the Brick Alley Pub

AND

– Some guy named Tony Gentilcore will be running his yapper as well.

I’m humbled that Tom would ask me to come speak, and I’m really looking forward to it. I’ll only be speaking for roughly an hour, but given that the golfing community – much like the endurance community – is quick to turn their backs on this whole lifting weights thing, I think this will be an awesome opportunity to prove otherwise that lifting heavy things is good for them.

Namely, I’ll cover joint specific parameters that golfers should (and need) to address that will undoubtedly improve their game. In addition, in the event that I fail miserably, I’m prepared to show-off my shadow puppet skills.*

Nonetheless, it should be a great day, and Tom has gone out of his way to organize a kick-ass event. Of note, he’s been gracious enough to offer a sweet discount to my blog readers (or any friend of Cressey Performance) who wish to attend. For more information, you can e-mail Tom at Sandbata@gmail.com, or click HERE to sign up online.

* Totally not kidding.

Did what you just read make your day? Ruin it? Either way, you should share it with your friends and/or comment below.

Plus, get a copy of Tony’s Pick Things Up, a quick-tip guide to everything deadlift-related. See his butt? Yeah. It’s good. You should probably listen to him if you have any hope of getting a butt that good.

I don’t share email information. Ever. Because I’m not a jerk.
