Everything You Know About Fitness Is a Lie – Daniel Duane

YES!!!  Kudos goes out to Men’s Journal for running thie piece.  It’s always a good thing when the mainstream media isn’t afraid to give people a little dose of “tough love.” Here, the author is basically told he’s weaker than a baby’s fart, and that all the time he’s spent doing his “sport specific” training on a BOSU ball has been, well, worthless.  In a nutshell, he has his “come to Jesus moment,” calls out the fitness industry, and it’s glorious.

Cliff Notes Guide to Hamstring Strains – Here’s an older post I wrote last year that I felt needed some extra love.

The Secret of Loaded Carries – Dan John

It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of Dan John, and this article is yet another gem by the man himself.  So, the question remains:  will I or won’t I act like a screaming 14 year old girl at a Justin Beiber concert when I go see him speak this weekend at Mike Boyle’s annual MBSC Winter Seminar??  HINT:

Did I just blow your mind? Make (or ruin) your day? Leave a comment, then share this with EVERYBODY.

The Men's Journal article was great! I'm gonna put a few copies around the gym and hope some misguided souls give it a read. The new site is great!

What day is the Boyle seminar on?

Is that your car? So sorry I missed the storm…sunny and 85 in St John.

Thanks for the Men's Journal read. I hope everyone caught the central theme: (1) Get strong and (2) you'll likely NOT find a trainer at your local gym who has a clue as to the best way of going about it.

I say, buy Show & Go or Maximum Strength. But that's just me :)

    @ C. Rice: this Saturday

@ Lisa: No, thank god. That was just a car that I passed as my GF and I were walking to the store. Needless to say, some people won't be leaving their spot anytime soon.

@ R. Smith: that was the overall message I got, too. People just need to shit-can the foo-foo nonsense and just focus on getting stronger. Then, they might see some good things happen.

That Men's Journal article is beyond EPIC! I feel like printing each page and posting it on the street lights right outside of every gym in the city!

Thanks for posting the Men's Journal article. It's almost everything I want to say to a person when they “don't get it”. Cant wait to print out for everyone the new required reading at my gym.
